The Northwest Montana History Museum will host an opening reception for the new exhibit “10 Items: Play’s the Thing” on Thursday, October 19 from 5 to 7 pm.
First-time 10 Items exhibit curator Elle Eberts-Robocker and volunteers Mary Miers and Mark Turbin sifted through the collection to find a range of items used by Flathead Valley residents in their pursuit of fun. She says, "Each item is accompanied by further research, photographs from the archive, and, in some cases, supporting objects that help paint a story."
The 10 Items exhibits run in one of the museum’s two temporary galleries and showcase items from the collection that fit a theme. The recreation-focused exhibit follows on The Way We Wore, 10 uniforms worn by Flathead Valley residents as they went about work, school, and engaging in sports, hobbies, and interests.
Find out ten ways Flathead Valley residents enjoyed themselves when the exhibit opens 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at your history museum in downtown Kalispell. Admission is free, and refreshments provided.
