The Hockaday Museum of Art and MAGDA (Montana Art and Gallery Directors Association) are pleased to present Synthesizing Icons: Composite Photographs by Larry Blackwood. Please join us to celebrate the innovative amalgamations by Larry Blackwood on view April 8, 2022 through June 11, 2022. By transposing photographs, patterns, and imagery popular in the Western art scene, Blackwood is able to push the traditional boundaries of photography and subject matter. He uses a computer program to blend original photographs, repeat images and other techniques, to create Surrealist tableaux that are ethereal and mysterious.
