Carl Orff’s choral-symphonic masterpiece, Carmina Burana, will be the booming season finale. The “O Fortuna” chorus is extremely well-known. It’s thundering symphonic-choral warning is used by countless filmmakers and advertisers - a quick Google search will jog your memory. But Orff’s masterpiece is much more than its opening chorus! The work, based on 13th-century medieval texts, serves as the guiding thread for three voice soloists, a full chorale and large orchestra.
