Description
The Northwest Montana History Museum invites you to a showing of Taxi Driver (1976) for October’s Movie Night at the Museum. This film follows mentally unstable Vietnam War veteran Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro), as he decides to take a job as a nighttime taxi driver. As he begins to grow increasingly more insane, he also becomes more and more enamored by the idea of cleaning up the filth he finds throughout New York. Things really take a turn when he meets Betsy (Cybill Shepherd), a campaign worker. He then decides that his mission to save the world involves assassinating a presidential candidate and rescuing Iris (Jodie Foster), a prostitute. This mission leads him down a dark road towards violence and confronts the conflict of right vs wrong. One of Martin Scorsese’s most popular films and winning dozens of awards, this classic shows how dangerous feelings of isolation can be, and the slippery slope one can fall into.
