DESCRIPTION:Behind the Boards: A Guided Tour of Plywood & Lumber ProductionVisitors will tour both the plywood & lumber plants which showcase unique products with exceptionally aesthetic qualities and Weyerhaeuser's dedicated workforce. Mainly Douglas fir and western larch are used at Weyerhaeuser due to their ability to produce fine grain and smooth faces. The Kalispell plant manufactures plywood products to various grades\, dimensions\, and performance standards appropriate for a wide range of customer end-uses\, while the lumber plant manufactures solid sawn studs\, available in various lengths to domestic markets coast-to-coast. Closed-toed shoes are required\, no loose-fitting clothing\, long pants required.. Minimum age of 5th grade to participate in tour.
