Plein Air Glacier 2019: Party & Sale
On Saturday, June 22, join the Hockaday and participating artists as they conclude their annual "en plein air" event! Saturday, June 22 5-8 pm Hockaday Museum of Art Free For the last twelve years, the Hockaday Museum of Art has hosted "Plein Air Glacier: Paint Out," an effort to continue the timeless tradition of painting in America’s National Parks. This year, artists will be painting outdoors in the fresh air in Glacier National Park and the nearby Swan and Flathead Valleys from June 14-21. Works created during this time will then be visible to the public and available for purchase at the Hockaday at a special Party & Sale on Saturday, June 22 from 5-8 pm. This plein air event has become a favorite of art lovers seeking original works of local landscapes and scenery. Paintings will be offered at fixed prices to benefit the Museum and artists will be present to tell their stories behind the works. Funds raised will benefit the museum’s annual programming mission to enrich the cultural life of the Flathead community and preserve the artistic legacy of Montana and Glacier National Park. Participating artists include: Rob Akey, Vernon Anderson, Jeff Manion, Robert Marceau, David Mihalic, Wanda Mumm, Mark Ogle, Ron Ukrainetz, Sally Vannoy, Ken Yarus, Karl Oehrtman, Denise Gilroy, Dave Marty, Bonnie Zahn Griffith, Therese Ely, Cheryl Peddie, Michael Pendola, Patty Voje, Melanie Thompson, Jack Dykstra, Lindsay Ternes, Peggie Moje, Kelly Sheridan, Deliece Blanchard, John Bucklin, Karen Elkan, Susan Perin, Barbara Manley, Patris Miller, and Nicholas Oberling.
