"Così fan tutte - The School for Lovers" Festival Amadeus Opera in Concert
"Così fan tutte, or The School for Lovers" is one of Mozart's greatest comic opera's and will be staged 'in concert' on the finale weekend of Festival Amadeus, August 10 and 11 in Whitefish. At it's premiere in 1790, the subject and libretto were considered risquè and ribald for most of the 19th century. Set in Naples, the story features the love exploits of two sisters and their two soldier suitors, along with a plotting philosopher and a worldly maid. It is a frolicking tale of seduction, deception and forgiveness. In short...it's loads of fun!
